Food and Drink Policy
Policy:
The College of Education community is encouraged to use the ITC computer labs as a place for research, study, reflection, and leisure. To promote a welcoming environment, the ITC permits the consumption of water in closed containers on the premises but prohibits food.
- Water, in closed containers is permitted in all areas of the ITC
- Food is not permitted in all areas of the ITC, including the open lab (Room 200) the Conference Rooms (246, 248, 252, 254 & 256.) and the Computer Classrooms (100, 106 & 116.)
- The College of Education provides a breakroom for student use on the 1st floor.
Rationale:
The ITCs' food and drink policy endeavors to accommodate our users and to encourage the use of ITC resources while protecting the University's substantial investment in the technology. These restrictions on the consumption of food are necessary because the presence of food and drink in the ITC introduces the potential for damage. By prohibiting food and limiting drink consumption to water in closed containers, we limit the chances of infestation and damage, and our custodial staff can much more easily keep the building clean.
