USING LEECH FTP
To transfer files into or out of your Panther account:

*NOTE* Web page files must go into the "public_html" folder if you want them to be seen by others. If you have not already created this folder, STOP what you are doing and follow the instructions here. If you have already created this folder and want to use it, make sure you are uploading the files into it in step #11.

  1. Start LeechFTP
  2. Click FILE-->CONNECT or click on the lightning bolt icon. A box appears.
  3. In the "Host or URL" box, type ftp.student.gsu.edu
  4. In the "Username" box, type your username (This is the same as the username you used to log in to the computer. For example: jsmith )
  5. Erase what is in the "Password" box (if anything) and leave it blank.
  6. Click OK. A new box will appear.
  7. Now type in your password and click OK. Now Leech will connect to your account.
  8. Click LOCAL-->CHANGE DIRECTORY and then choose the folder that contains the file(s) you want to move into your account.
  9. The window in the bottom center should change to show you what is in the folder you have just selected. This is your Local Directory, or local folder.
  10. The window in the bottom right is a view of your Panther account, in this case the Remote Directory. *DO NOT ERASE ANYTHING IN THIS WINDOW IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS*
  11. Select the files you want to upload into your panther account and click LOCAL-->UPLOAD FILES. *NOTE* Web page files must go into the "public_html" folder if you want them to be accessible to others. If you have not already created this folder, STOP what you are doing and follow the instructions here. If you already have this folder and want to use it, make sure you have opened it in the bottom right window by double-clicking it.
  12. Now click once anywhere in the window that shows your Panther account (the bottom right one), and then click the "REFRESH" button (it looks like two green arrows in a circle). The window will update and you should now see the files you have transferred.
  13. That's it! You've moved the files!
