Teleconferencing in the ITC
Video Conferencing
The ITC uses a Polycom Viewstation as the hardware that establishes the videoconference call over an IP connection to another site. The Viewstation sits on top of a television monitor and is connected much like a VCR connects to a television. You connect to another site by “dialing” another site’s IP (internet protocol) address.
The ITC has Video Conferencing available in Room 248 and a mobile station which can be used within the College of Education. We can also arrange (at a small cost) to send a small PC camera to a video conference participant located off-campus.
Please contact Sue Husted at shusted@gsu.edu for more information.
Voice Conference
The ITC uses a Polycom SoundStation audio-conferencing telephone as
the hardware that establishes voice conferences over telephone lines.
The SoundStation enables you to speak naturally from 2 feet to 20 feet
away from the microphone, so those on the remote end of the call can
hear you clearly.
The Soundstation is located in Room 248. Please contact Sue Husted at shusted@gsu.edu for more information.
